different transfer case questions

Im having some trouble figuring this one out i understand how the control-trac transfer case works with the torque split and all. Completely understand that i love my ford Explorer but i need help with my other blazer.

So i have turned to this forum for help my 2003 Blazer has the auto-trac transfer case which according to GM when slip is detected using a clutch inside and locks it 50/50 automatically.

What i want is for it to be a torque split just like the Explorer does gm tells me the only way to achieve this would to get the computer programmed that controls it programmed to send pulses to the clutch inside the transfer case which steps up or decreases power via Slip he said thats the only way it would work like Explorers control-trac does is this true???
