While driving my '92 Explorer I hear a periodic "whining" noise coming I think from the rear end. It lasts only 4 or 5 seconds. Maybe like something spinning very fast. It makes no difference what speed or whether going up or down hill. I don't have a clue. I live in Costa Rica where the mechanics leave a little to be desired so it's important for me to have all the information I can get before having a mechanic look at the car. Can anyone help?
