Digital Tuner for 02 Sport Trac

I have done a couple of things to my truck: Zabtech cold air intake, smaller tires, and a flowmaster. I have gotten a small gain in mpg and a significant gain in horse power. I was wondering if the tuner would make any more of a difference. I am new to this sort of stuff so I am basically ignorant when it comes to mechanics, but I have done well so far. If the tuner is needed is there an affordable tuner out there that still has great performance.

Smaller tires what did you have and what do you have now for the tires?

small tires = lower gearing = false mileage unless you re-calibrated speedometer, so you mileage may not have improved, unless you're saying same diameter tires just skinnier.
