i have a 94 explorer rear drums... 3.73 lim slip d4 ford 8.8" rearend...

i am thinking about doing a direct swap into my toyota... this same thread will be posted on the toyota board as well....

what is the width drum to drum of the explorer axle? also, if i remeber correctly, it has a center diff and not offset correct? now what are the positions of its spring pads located... like how many inches in from the sides of the drum?

im also going to need a new proportioning valve i beleive, posibly a new master cylinder.... the toyota currently has the toyota 7.5" solid sua rear with a 2.5" wide spring pad and drum brakes.....

just thoguht of other stuff that might be important:

the toytoa jsut has rear drums... the explorer has abs with rear drums... also, what about a custome ebrake setup for this? i would assume i would have to eitehr lengthen or shorten the current e-brake cable

EDIT: i also know i will need differnt brake lines rubber/hard and such

The Explorer 8.8 is offset to the passenger side. I don't have the dimentions in front of me but I'll look as soon as I get home. You won't need a proportioning valve or a new master cyl unless you go with disc brakes. The abs sensor in on the ring gear and won't affect your brakes under the yota.
