the only way to find out is to see once you get the system installed. And unless you're really using the system with the truck off, the battery isn't the thing to worry about. You'd need a higher output alternator and also a capacitor for the system.

I had dual 300w Kenwoods running 2 12" Blau's and my lights dimmed depending on how high the gain was.

Like they said, best way to find out is to play the system with the gains set to your liking and see what happens.

Ive got an mtx 500d and my lights dim when its loud.

Just to give you an idea.

invest in a good alternator if the dimming bothers you.... when i ran quad air horns on my tercel, my lights would dim..... it didnt bother me though.....if i really needed the extra light output, i just wouldnt use the horn

do you have the 5.0?

i had a 94 expl w/ the 4.0 ohv,
running a 120 watt amp (30x4) and a 200 watt amp
i was also running 4 fog lamps w/ 100 watt bulbs.

my headlights dimmed (to the beat @ high volumes) at stop lights. no big deal though.

the 5.0 has the 130 amp alternator. i now run the 120 watt amp and a 250 watt amp. i have factory fogs plus piaa 520s. no dimming (continual or to the beat) whatsoever.

don't worry about a new battery until your current one needs to be replaced. (unless you sit in parking lots cranking the stereo for hours on end)
