I just purchased a 2004 Explorer XLT with a 4.0L V6 SOHC and was topping off the fluids under the hood when I noticed this vacuum line was disconnected. I've looked all over and can not seem to find what or where it is connected too. It's the line with junction on it. Any ideas?

I don't believe that's it. There's 2 lines running through the firewall and one looks to go to the reservoir.

Not familiar with the Gen 3 4.0L configuration. Possibly from the heater control valve? IIRC, the HCV vacuum line was a gray color though. GL

Yeah, the other line running through the firewall is gray.

I'm pretty familiar with the older 4.0 OHV motors, but not these.

Found this pic and drew an arrow to the line in question.
