I've been doing this forever on my VW's. Ground Control sells the threaded collars and eibach springs that can be adapted to any shock. This would only be worth doing on a set of bilstein shocks because all others are inferior. Plus if you're plan is to raise the truck, the Fox shocks are longer to accommodate for that.

Just ordered some of the Gabriel load carrier shocks. They should be here Wednesday. Planning on pulling a trailer next weekend and my rear was starting to sag pretty good. If I think about it I will post some before and after pictures.
