hey guys. I have a 97 xlt explorer sohc 4.0 v6. Im putting an xtant x604 (600 watts) in there with 2 jl 12w3v3s. I've heard that i either have a 95 amp or a 130 amp. Should I be worried about putting strain on my alternator or not?

You should no problems at all. The xtant amp is one of the best amps on the market. A big positive for the amp is it has a regulated power supply. What that means is no matter if the amp gets 11 volts or 15 volts the amp will put out full power. So even if the charging system of you truck can not keep up, the amp will still put out full power. From personal experience I had a Ford Contour SVT that I was running a JL Audio 500/1 (500 watts) & a JL Audio 300/2 (300 watts) and I had no problems. I don't know what size alt was on it but I would bet our explorers has at least the same or bigger.

You might want to upgrade the alternator wiring.

Good luck ....
