You probably wont need the steering extension.

sweet.. that was my worry, the steering extension or not..
but yea, I have a friend that agreed that if my engine takes a dump that he'll sell me his beatup worktruck dodge for the engine and everything

Is this a full size dodge pick up your talking about? If so there's about 0% of a chance that it will fit.
Oh come now - plasma cutter, a welder, and some square tubing for a new chassis, it'll surely fit ;)

yes... but it's the smaller diesel engine, only the 16V version... which is smaller than the more popular 24V

IZwack... that's most likely the way it'll go if it comes to putting the diesel in

In some states, you can only swap engines from the same year or newer.

I think thats pretty 'tarted lol,
how would they know anyways though...

I dunno, never had much of a reason to dig deep into the details. But I know that is the case in CA.

did you guys see the same year or newer thing on Extreme 4x4 on powerblock.. is that where you're getting that from.. b/c they're in cali.. in in michigan, where if it has a cat. and a muffler you're legal

Then there's a chance you wont be road legal and you'll be dropped by your insurance company for altering the chassis - and thats not state policy, thats just how insurance companies operate.

Hahaha yeah, around here, your considered rich if you have a muffler and cat still...LOL JK about that, but there are way too many beaters on the road lately....that dont have either :p

but in the olden days when you could swap any motor into any car. All that was required was to have the emission equipment that came on the motor originally. But of Course now they flipped the rules so now you have to have the smog equipment that came on the vehicle from the factory.

WTF.... who changed my title of my thread... I liked the Big Question and a Huge Idea. Come-on someone own up too it.

I'm pretty sure that my frame will handle it with some beefin up. It's the suspension that's gong to die, and need a complete overhaul.

A mod changed it, and btw it wasn't a big question, or idea a little searching would have answered all of your questions.

maybe to me it was... and it would get people interested in it. Maybe I didn't want to search anymore and like to talk to people direct about it instead of old threads. I looked for a long time for ppl to say something about 2in lifts either on websites of the manufacturers or on here and I couldn't find anything. The diesel thing I've had in my head for a while and just wanted the opinion of what would be better.
