Hi Gang,

I installed some PIAA 520s. I nstalled it like the directions (because I am a moron). The pos and neg wires from the relay go right to the battery, the ground grounded to the chassis, and the switch as normal. However, why did the directions not say to install an inline fuse between the pos cable and the pos terminal on the battery? (I emailed PIAA a week ago with my question about an inline fuse, but they have never responded.)

I think if you pull the cover off your relay that you will find a "in line" fuse in the relay.
I think they use the same relay as the 80XT lights and thats where the fuse is on those.

I still like to have a fuse close to the battery on any live wire just incase...I actually have a big aftermarket fusebox mounted by my battery, and a fuse in the line to it.then a fuse in the wire on the way to most of my lights.I think I have some issues now that I think about it.If I ever blow a fuse it will take me all day to find out witch one.I think I need to call my therapist..........

Just put one as close to the battery as possible LOL

I was hoping for just slightly more detail from PIAA, but after over a week I finally got this response--"There is a fuse that is located inside the relay box." Now, I am curious on the amp, type, and how easy it would be to change out. It seems like it maybe a good idea to put in an inline fuse to prevent the hassle of getting and opening the relay.

No there is no need to install inline fuse unless you feel more comfortable with one.

I allways like one close to the battery....no chance of a short in an accident or rollover
