Few questions, one I've heard that the pulley is a little bit smaller than the stock one. Where can I find a serpentine belt that will fix this or any other little tricks that might work. Second, how long does Mr. Alt normally take to deliver?

I had to replace my alt last winter. Pep Boys gave me one with the smaller pully. It will not work, you need to get one with the stock size pully.

I think that was what your are asking, if not can you be more clear.

Well I've heard you can just buy a new belt thats smaller???????? not to sure also
Where can I buy a serpentine belt for cheap

Why would you want to do that? Just get the right one. is Mr. Alt a brand or something or just what you call your Alternator

ahhh, that makes alot more sense now, thank you. Are you sure that you cannot get one with the right size pulley on it? You might be able to just swap the pulley from your old alt. Like I said I got an alt once that had the smaller pulley that you are talking about, damn thing just would not work. A smaller belt would not of helped because the belt tensioner took the extra slack out. I took the alt back to the store and they tested it and it was fine, just would not work in my truck. I got one with the stock size pulley on it and it worked just fine.

You can get away with a smaller pulley (assuming it isn't so small that the tenioner can't tighten the belt).

On our '92 I have a smaller pulley on our alternator (my replacemnt one came with it)...

You get more power at idle this way.. BUT there is a downside. The alternator ends up spinning kinda fast.

If you do a lot of high rpm driving you may wear out the bearings faster. Currently, I am getting about 50k miles out of an alternator before the bearing start to go. But in my case, I have a lifetime waranty and it only takes me 30 minutes to r&r an alternator (in Autozone's parking lot).

I drive on the freeway for about 1 hour every day with the motor spinning close to 3k so you may not wear it out as fast.
