Does a 2000 SOHC V6 have a PCV valve?

And if it does where would it be located, can't find anything in the Chilton manual on the SOHC in regards to one.

The SOHC most certainly has one because it is part of the federally enforced emissions system. I'm not quite sure where it is, but if it is bad, it should be warranted to be replaced for free.

Your 2000 PCV should be in the same place as my '97 was (at the back of the engine, right behind the passenger side valve cover). In '97 Ford would replace the PCV at no charge at 60K. It is in my Service Booklet. I took advantage of it when I had my Explorer in for other service. I just replaced it again last weekend. If you buy one, you are better off getting one that has the 'T' fitting on top like the OEM. If you don't (like I did) you'll have a very hard time getting the 'T' off the OEM PCV and just as hard of time getting it on the new PCV. The one I picked up was a Deutch brand. I expected the 'T' part to be a little more flexible. Next time I change it, I'll get one with the 'T' already installed. Here's my OEM PCV on my '97 SOHC
