pcv valve removal for 2000 sohc

Does anyone have any tips or a walkthrough on how to remove the dang pcv valve? I'm pretty sure I found it; the back of the motor where you can't reach of course! My problem is prying the hose off. Appreciate any help I can get.

Be very careful with it, and if it seems to be good, leave it alone. The PCV often breaks the plastic tee while installing a new aftermarket valve. Ford only sells the whole assembly with hoses for about $45.
