i have my ps2 and inverter and they both work awesome together but i have an install problem. i was wondering if anyone has found a place for it that maintains the use of the folding rear seats. it won't go under the front seats due to motors and clearance problems. i was thinking maybe hang it under the passenger dash but its ugly and might get kicked or stolen or something. accessability isnt a real issue because the controller ports are in the ash tray.

if you trim the center console properly a ps2, with memory card in it, and two controllers can fit in there.

i have done this- the trick was to trim the underside of the armrest so that you gained more room in that way.

you don't have to take out the bottom of the console, just gut the armrest?

yes, but i also highly recommend cutting the bottom of the existing console so you get enough air flow to the fan on the ps2 and also cutting so that the cables have a nice place to drop through...

of course my truck has rear heat/ac delete because of my custom console so you may run into some more problems than i did.

man, thanks for the quick reply. you've got me thinking now. i'll put it in at an angle and finish it with a trim around the ps2. i've got a quick question; for anyone, really; how do you make plastic? i need a hard plastic plate to cover my junk-collector (just below the temp. controls, heh) so that i can put my center channel in. i've got a hole there now exposing wires. nobody i've asked knows how to make hard plastic panels.

I got mine mounted under the rear seat on the passenger side.

most audio shops have sheets of abs laying around that can be trimmed to size- usually with a dremel tool

otherwise you could use a small piece of mdf covered infiberglass or if its really small just bondo

just make sure the ps2 can get air to the fan if it doesnt it will burn up and die fairly quickly..

well today i started in on it. i got my disk changer out of the center console. thats all fine and dandy. now i've run into a real problem; expo, i doubt you had it due to custom console, but theres a big chunk of metal sticking up in the front, within the console. the coin holder/kleenex dispenser is supposed to slide on it. i tried to remove it but it seems to be screwed in underneith the console itself. is this true? do i have to hack of the metal to fit the ps2 in there? once i get that removed, it'll go in tickity boo and i can post some pics.

yeah, i removed that along with everything else but the plastic shell.

your gonna want to use a dremel tool probably. there is no room to fit a grinder or a tin snips in without pulling the console entirely.

bm- will those work if i want to play from a lawnchair behind the truck and i have the ps2 in the center console as described?

i'm trying to find a way to do that

they should. I use them at home and they are good for a LONG way.

I use this product http://www.baysoftgames.com/wavestation.html it lets me use the original controllers.

how does that product attach to the console? does the whole thing plug in? in the lower picture that looks like its the case, and that wouldn't work so great for in the center armrest- but maybe i could keep that thing in the glovebox and just plug it in when i want to play at a show or tail gating.

The bottom pic plugs into the PS2. it sticks out about twice what a memory card does. After looking at the pic it is a little different that mine. Mine as an internal antenna on the unit that plugs into the ps2. I got it at Best Buy less than 6 months ago. BUT for $35 it sure beats buying multiple wireless controllers.

sure does, i'm just not sure it really fits my space needs

are the wireless controllers as effective?

yah they should be just as efective aslong as they put enough channels in

i hade a wireless keyboard and mouse that only had 2 channel for the keyboard so u could only push 2 buttons at a time......made it horrible to play games on lol

Pics? I considered mounting an amp under there, but there wasn't room. Did you cut the bottom of the seat out?

I didnt have to cut anything, its just under the passenger side rear seat, it sits up under there nicely, but the only problem is that when you lay down your back seat, it doesnt lay flat anymore, it hits the ps2. I was gunna put it right in the middle, but then you couldnt have layed the seat down at all, cause it would have sat right on the playstation, and I was worried about breaking the ps2.

Hrm.. Silly question then - what if someone wants to sit back there? Doesn't it hit the bottom of the seat-bottom?

Pics, man, pics! :D
