2001 Explorer Sport Trac
Hey,
Im sorta a nub when it comes to this kind of things and i was wondering if anyone would know whether my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, that has keyless entry via code key-pad, would have a immobilizer bypass already installed. I have no idea if this vehicle even had an alarm system as i bought it privately and didnt really ask those questions and didnt receive a alarm remote, and now I have bought a nuas-1000 alarm/starter combo and the total of all the labour and parts comes over $600 when the kit itself is only $100, and i was thinking i have the keyless entry, via keypad code, already there maybe i have a immobilizer bypass so i can save my self some dough (also dont know the code for the keypad lol). If anyone could clarify my thinking it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

There is a way to find the keypad code, but I don't know where it is in the sport trac. If you have a keypad, you can get a Ford key fob (so long as it's the correct kind) and program them easily at home. The head of your key should be really thick, is it?
If so, it's a PATS key, and you can't start the car without one of those keys programmed to the car. If you had a copy of the key made and tried to start it, it won't start.

do a search for key pad code, lots of good info there

Thanks guys for the replies but not to be a jerk but u guys didn't answer my question LOL but I was truly wondering if I have a bypass, and going by wit the first guy sed I dont have a starter bypass but do I have a keyless entry bypass I should shouldn't I

By default from it won't have a bypass. I suspect it probably had the factory system. so you will need the bypass module to get the remote start to work properly.
