Just went on ebay and typed "Ford Explorer Cabin Air Filter" and the only ones they had were for the 2011 and 2012 models. I could not find one for a 2010 or older. So my educated guess is that they do not have a cabin air filter.
Agreed. The 2007 Ford Explorer Workshop Manual says that a cabin air filter cannot be installed.
However, that is also true for the Lincoln Town Car and some people have modified a cabin filter and put it over the air intake under the hood. It lowers the blower air volume but does not get wet and needs to be replaced periodically. I have not looked at the air intake on the Explorer.
