Ok let me start off by saying that I do not own a dog. For whatever reason dogs seem to flock to my yard to take a piss on my 20 inch chrome wheels and low profile tires.

Anyone have any suggestions of how to curb this? I am not going to shoot a dog or anything but just want them to stop pissing all over my X.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

do you live on a corner? cats and dogs use corners as landmarks and tend to mark on houses on street corners. either way, i think its cats that are peeing on your truck and while theres pee on your car, theres probably more in your front lawn and planters. i live in a neighborhood full of older retired people who will leave milk out for cats so we have a ton of them running around. i too dont want to be waiting around in the dark to shoot an animal so here are a few ways ive been able to get rid of the cats coming to my yard:

get the smallest little old fashioned wooden mouse traps and set them in the planters or in your lawn. when the cats enter your yard at night and start sniffing around, they will trip the traps and it will scare the hell out of them but it wont hurt them. the other thing you can do is go to petco and buy a spray that you can put on your tires that is clear, non toxic, and has no smell, but when a cat or dog gets a wiff of it or tastes it, it will deter them. another thing you can do is get a dog! if you have a dog, his scent alone should ward off any cats and most dogs. let you dog mark a little in your yard, and it should work pretty good. good luck, i hope this helps.

I wonder if you could spray some sort of pet repellent spray, around each tire, to deter the dogs. Like the stuff to keep pets off furniture, from crossing a boundary, or whatever people use sprays to deter animals for.

Another idea are the motion detecting spray units. When they detect motion, they simply spray something like compressed air, to startle the animal.

I live out in the woods, and our neighbors are not close but I suspect their dogs are just out running around and keep finding my truck.

I will try the pet repellant spray and see if that will help at all. Thanks for the advice.

fyi, my dog does the same thing. got tired of it rusting up my brakes and rims, so..if you live in the woods, could always just pee on em yourself. technally "marking" the rims and tires as yours. ive done it and now my dog nor anyother stray pees on em.
gross and sounds wrong, but its worked fer me.
