I bought a used '97 Explorer and I find the dome(overhead center panel) light bulbs have been removed. I check Alldata and also the in store sources at Walmart but can't discover the bulb ID. Its a round 1157 style with the lugs but there are copper strips for connection up near the bulb's shoulder instead of the tip contacts at the base. I can't recall ever seeing that before. Can someone give the bulb type and ID please?

906 I think. You need the bulb holders and they twist in where the copper strips are. The bulbs then face up.

Bulb holders? Uh oh- sounds like a needle in the haystack situation!

If it's like that you should go ahead and do an LED conversion.

This ^

The LED conversion is quite easy. You can even get little LED boards premade on eBay that will plug right in.

Thanks for the link but its not specific. I didn't even know there were conversions! I just want light when I open the door.
