98 XLT- fuse 26 and dome light issue

Hey everyone, this is my first post so let me know if I need to post this elsewhere.

I recently bought a very well maintained 98 XLT with 150,000 miles for $500. It’s been running great so far but I’m having a strange issue. I have no power windows, 4WD or interior lights. Upon replacing fuse 26 in the driver side fuse box I had power to all windows and i was able to switch between 4 LO and 4 HI. But as soon I as I toggle the dimmer switch on I lose both of them again. I have no dome lights so I’m thinking it could be a short in the switch or a relay issue. I check the fuse each time this happens and it doesn’t blow.

Any ideas of where I should start?

Do you have an overhead console? If so make sure no ones put wires up there to try to fix the foil crap. Also does your 4 wheel drive lights flash on your dash that means your 4WD fuse is bad.

I’ll check the over head console. And yes, the 4WD lights flash but go away once I get power to the windows.

Solved!
I swapped some of the relays around under the dash. The interior lamp and dimmer switch relays were both bad.
