Finally after a few years of owning my Ranger and having no inside light ever, I finally got around to getting the bulb for it. After putting it in I find that the switch in the driver's side door doesn't work (as in, the light doesn't come on when the door opens). Passenger side works as it should, as does the switch on the dash. Can someone tell me exactly where the switch is in the door and how I can remedy the situation?

..On a 94 Ranger it should be a contact pin located on the jamb between the door hinges..

..Common issue with this is the contact pin itself needs replacing or loose/damaged wire leading to it..

So I should replace the latch in the door then? Do you know how much that part is, and would i have to remove the interior panel on the door?

..95 and newer have the latch inside the door..

..You should have the contact pin on the door jamb itself by where the hinges hold the door in place. You will have an identical one on the passenger side also but it sounds like the problem lies on the driver side..;)
