door ajar light always on

my door ajar warning light is always on, but there is no door ajar. Its been on for a couple weeks and my interior lights are always on. so i pulled a fuse 27 on my 1996 xplorer. problem fixed, but i have no lights and no power windows now.
is there any other solution to this problem?
im not sure if this is right forum.....

open the door. and spray wd 40 into the latch should fix it.

WD40 always works for me. what works for me the longest though is to use the straw the can comes with to really point it down in the door catch
