Door Ajar lite stays on

Hey, new to the explorerforum and actually, a little new to the explorer line, but its working out very nicely for us! My problem is with my fiancee's 2000 Sport, the door ajar lite remains on all the time, and we know it's the driver's side (it's the only door that does not turn on int. lights) but, the explorer does not seem to have a convientienal push-type switch. I am suspecting that the switch is faulty nad may need cleaned/replaced. The trouble is, I can't find the thing! Is it possibly a hall-effect type switch located somewhere behind the bottom hinge?

Also, does anyone know how to reset the code for the keyless entry push-buttons on the door?

Welcome to this forum! If you pull off the door panel, you could see some wiring going into the strike mechanism. I think that part has the switch for the dome light, and the door ajar. When you touch the outside door handle, the dome light is supposed to turn on. As for the keyless entry, check the rear on the driver's side. There is a module with the code on it. I'm not sure how to reprogram it, but it is related to that module. I once saw a tread here about reading those codes.
