Door Ajar

I had that stupid door ajar alarm going off all the time. It was driving me nuts, to the point where I was ready to admit myself to the psych ward.

Anyhoo, I tried this method http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=190221

using WD40, PB Blaster, Seafoam Deep Creep, even tried brake cleaner to clean it, then lubing again. But nothing worked. So I did some research, and popular opinion is that Kroil http://www.kanolabs.com/ is the best penetrating lube out there. But unfortunately it is only ordered online. So I also found that Moovit http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=1&p=53922&cat=1,43415,43440&ap=1 also had high praise. Well I bought a can from Princess Auto. I followed the method in the above link, and voila, no more stupid annoying door chime going off while the doors are closed.

I just thought I would share that experience in hopes it would help others that cannot fix it using the suggested WD40.
My soul is now at peace with the world...

...:scratch:...The method in the fist link worked so, it was just the difference of the penetrating fluid???

Yep. The other fluids I tried constantly over a long period of time (all summer), with no luck. I tried it again with Moovit, left it overnight, and everything was better the next day.

Oh, and no I don't have any affiliation with the company. I'm just really happy the noise is gone.
