I actually searched for YEARS trying to find a source to replace my worn leather seats. I hate the look of seat covers. Most just slide on leather and I loved the look of my Eddie Bauer embroidery.

I finally found one place that would make them. They only offered two colors, neither matched my medium prairie tan, I would lose the pocket on the back, no guarantee of fit, each was at a cost of $500! This obviously didn't include removing the old and installing the new.

Besides not having $1000 to pay on seats, I have arthritis in my hands and couldn't see myself pulling and tugging on upholstery (even though I have done it in the past.)

Searching more, I found a video on REPAIRING leather with a product called dye that actually fills in small imperfections (wear) and could also fill cracks and tears. Mine were only worn. I invested the $180, $25 for custom color and I couldn't be more thrilled! This was easy as pie, done in only a couple of hours and they look new!! I've been asked if I'm going into the business. $$$$$$$$$!!!

Nice! I wonder how well it will hold up over time.

Your seats came out awesome! I have seen other people who have restored their seats with dye as well as even dying a different color. If prepped correctly, they will hold up for many years!!

Wonder if it'll work on mine, have two bad tears

This stuff FEELS like it makes a good bond and the kit comes with a sealer. There is enough in the 4 oz bottle to go over this again and again should I feel the need. We'll see how it is in a year. At the very least, they won't get MORE worn. Much longer and I fear the fabric would have begun to tear. It is thin as water as it is put on and soon dries. The big problem with any upholstery other than the fabric is if the threading breaks down. I'm not sure what the answer to that would be. I went over that well in hopes it will extend the life. Meanwhile, I'm very happy.

The kit comes with a piece or two of a repair cloth or backing to place under a tear to hold it with the filler. Depending on where the tear is and how diligent you are, my guess it will work. They have videos on it on YouTube. I'd go for it! Good luck!

Thanks! I'm not very experienced with this site and how to include pics. Some things are just too good not to share!
