Hey all, i have only 2 issues left to deal with on my 93 4x4 sport. (59k original). I have one door that "sags" and wont close unless i do a clever lift and push move. I have found many great articles on how to go about replacing the hinge pins etc and i am certain i can handle it with a bit of help.

Now the problem i need help with ....

My rear tailgate is off center, and seems to close tighter to one side by a large margin. I am not sure if the truck was hit when i was not around (nothing visiable) or if it has to do with one of the supports not being on. One of the lift supports is broke and i need to reweld it on..

I dont remember the off center as being a problem back when the hydro-lifter was off. . Either way, i need to get into rewelding a hydrolic lifter and centering the tailgate. Has anyone seen any good thread on anything tailgate related? Or a link to anything helpful. Its the first time i am tackling a tailgate project.

Thanks

the door youve got the right idea...if your tail gate has struts that hold up it up like most 95 and up which i believe the older style should too just remove the one you have left and close it..if it shuts normal then that your problem...but that would be rare and i dont think that your problem, so at that point all you need to do is loosen up, not remove, the hinges on the top of the gate and move the door till you get it better alligned..it may also require minor adjustments of the striker on the quarters once you move the gate to get it to close smoothly. its not to difficult if you just barely loosen the bolts enough to get the gate to budge that way it wont be so loose it will jsut float around in the hinge holes making it more difficult to alling properly

thanks for the help, i appraciate it. Im going to tackle that this week. Ill be back to let ya know how it went. .. Thanks...
