door handle conversion idea

" preliminary idea" after 2 of my outside door handles broke, they still work but the plastic is obviously cracked inside, i was wondering if i could swap in a newer set of handles from a 96 or so. my truck is white and i ahve seen some newer models with white handles as well, i believe they might be metal..?? i think it would look cooler and hold up better. my question is if they will fit or not. anybody done this or have ideas?

I don't believe they will fit without custom work. The door handles are totally different, and you'd have to cut your old ones out, then bondo the new in and things like that. At least I think, I haven't seen anybody that has done this before.

thanks for the input, not as pleasing as i would have liked to hear but keep the info coming, i'm gonna go to the junkyard this week to see what the deal is

I tryed having this Done on my 92 and they would not fit.
