I just bought this 2000 Explorer Sport this past October, it only had 60k miles, as soon as I bought it and got it on the road, the alternator died on it, killed the battery, luckily it happened right in my driveway. I then found out that the previous owner NEVER used the key to open the door, because the locks were corroded. I was able to open all the locks with a little PB Blaster my roommate left in the garage, and jiggled the key enough.
So anyway, it's winter time, the roads are really bumpy with frost heaves, I kept hearing this weird rattle noise on my way home. I get home, close the door, hear the rattle again, I turn around and the lock cylinder was dangling from the door:

so... has his happened to anybody before? Is there a way to fix this without using adhesive and/or taking the door apart?
It's 2:00 am and it's 4 degrees outside, I'll have to take another look in the morning, but I wasn't able to find a post about this anywhere else.
