Well, this does not make my truck out of comission, however, it is becoming a pain in my rear end. The rear driverside door handle was pulled a little too hard from the inside and broke. Now the door will not open from the inside. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

You need to replace the handle. They are defective, and break often. I have broken at least 4 of them. They run about $15.

i just replaced my rear passenger side door handle very easy , stopped working cause one of the teeth on the gear cracked off easy fix just take the door panel off peel back the water shield and unscrew the 2 screws holding it in then seperate it from the metal bar and replace with new one install is reverse of removal (i sound like a book )

Yup, that's the problem.

I went threw two of them, now people just gotta deal with scooting over and going out the other door.....and unlock it since the lock actuator crapped out.

In order to open the back doors you have to lock and unlock the power locks a few times, and sometime open it from the outside. Its weird and sometimes it works alright.

Thanks for the help. Can I get a new handle from Ford or is it possible to go through auto zone or advance?

also, what is involved in taking the door panel off. I can tell that it will be a lot harder than in my 85 Bronco.

very easy put the window all the way down unscrew the 2 screws just above the handle pry out the handle trim with a flat head screw driver (careful not to crack it) then using a trim removal tool or a wide flat head slowly pry the trim from the door once all the clips are off lift the panel up to clear the top edge of the door then pull it away from the door and disconnect the power window switch. its not hard at all

you need to pick it up from ford.

they should have it in stock i live in nyc and i was shocked that they had it in stock for like 17$ maybe lesser out side the city

The will most likely always carry them as they are constantly selling them. When I purchased one of mine an older gentleman rang me up and knew the part# off the top of his head.

thnaks for all of the help. im going this afternoon to go and pick one up.
