door sensor help 04 explorer limited

Does anyone know any diy write up for changing the passenger door sensor, My door ajar light wont go off and i tryed everything even the wd40 trick and still nothing, I am just going to change the sensor, thanks in advance

Had the same problem with my 03 xlt. Luckily a good friend of mine is a tech at a ford dealer. We plugged the truck in just to make sure that was the problem and low and behold, it wasnt. There was a broken ground wire in the door jam. Might be worth lookin into.

I had the same problem in mine, I had to take the panel off and take door latch out. The sensor twist in at the bottom and it has a little rubber boot over the oin and the pin was all corroided. Cleaned it up and put it back together
