doorlock and door ajar light problems

my driver side door lock is out of comission. and to add to it my door ajar light has been on for about a week now. i have taken the panel off the door to see if the door lock socket had come loose but it did not solve any problems. help is needed....

A search will produce two common causes with troubleshooting advice:

• Door Switch
• Severed black ground wire running from within the door and through the door jamb

Both good places to start...

as suggested check for broken or frayed wires in the rubber boot between the door and pillar.

Door ajar, WD40 the heck out of the lock mechnisims, the sensor is part of the lock sometimes it will losen it.
