So with my 1998 explorer my doors with auto unlock randomly by there self, sometimes i can hear it when walking away from my car, what do I go about fixing this?
thanks, I just looked up rap module replacement and it talks in the post about keyless entry which I don't have, does this mean it's still the rap module thanks for the reply
If you don't have keyless entry then no RAP module. You might have a short in the wiring to the drivers door switches or in the wiring to the relays. You'll need a schematic and possibly a service manual.
has the full 1996 through 1999 Factory service DVD and is offering to send a copy to forum members for $5.00. That is the deal of the century and is what you need.
You will need to look at the wiring diagrams and try to locate a short circuit (wiring loom at the drivers door flex joint?)or maybe a broken relay that is causing the erratic door lock problem. I have never seen an explorer without the pats system, so don't have any experience with this particular problem.
