I was hoping someone could tell me where to find the Remote Anti-theft Personality module on a 1999 explorer. The doors are continually locking to the point I have removed the power lock fuse to keep damage from happening. I think I need to start troubleshooting from this module but am not sure where to find it. Anyhelp with this problem would be greatly appreciated!!!!

There is a procedure to turn off door autolock, I believe you will find it in your manual. You may want to do that first, and see what the behavior of the sytem is after you turn it off.

It sounds like something is UNlocking them when it should not be. And the autolock system then goes agead and relocks them. There are several things involved in the autolock circuit (digital tranny range sensor, GEM, door closed switches / sensors, possibly vss - I can't remember it all) and auto UNlock circuit. So a good wiring diagram will be required. You may want to think about joining alldatadiy.com or buying a factory service manual off ebay. Both of these have manual troubleshooting procedures by symptom I believe.

Your rap module is on top of the left rear fenderwell.

Stupid question. I have a 95, no anti theft, no remote unlock. Can I turn ON auto door lock? Used to my girls 00 sable that locks when it flies through reverse, miss it in the X.

I tried the manual, no go. I'm thinking I can't, but figure I'll ask for clearification.

tnx

Some '95's DO have autolocks!
Mine does.

Just follow the procedure in the owners manual for the 96 to find out how to turn it on or off.
