Think of it like a mountain bike with 24 speeds vs a regular road bike with 10.

Lets you go slower and gives you more control. If you can't go slow enough you will bounce and spin loosing traction. Lets you crawl an obsticle instead of spinning and bouncing. Can be easier on your truck. Or harder as if you have a lead foot it makes it easier to spin and bounce.

Tom Cambell used to make one and market it under his company name T&M. The T&M was the longest at just over 8". It had it's own pump and fluid for lubrication. I have the last one he made in my 88 Bronco II.

Another guy Mark had a company called 4xFab and made a Stubler. It was the shortest made. It uses modified shafts and shares oiling with the main case. The main case pump pumps fluid forward to the input bearing and the modified shafts are drilled so the fluid goes forward to the input bearing of the stubler. I have one of these in my 94 sport.

Neither of those are currenty produced. If you get one of those you will have to find it used. Duffy at D&D makes a kit he sells called Box4rocks. He can be difficult to get ahold off and you may have a long wait till he makes another run. He dose kits for other t-cases as well. His doubler kit relies on splash oiling for the doubler. Here is a link I found for Jeep kit he does. It has his contact info if you want to talk to him about your application. If you can use the 1354\1350 t-cases he dose have a kit for it. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=696803

Another option would be a lower range t-case like the Atlas. Or even a 3 or 4 speed t-case. Many of these use the doubler design and put a second low range box ahead of the t-case.

Thanks for the replies and links.
