Downgrade; Auto to Manual. help plz?

I have a 92 Eddy auto 4.0 just sitting. I want to get it back to running order.

Is this a good idea? I'm sure I'd loose the 4X4 function, although that never worked, and I do like the feel of stick shift better. I know I'd be adding a new hole and stick in, and I have time on my hands.

I'd like an answer before Sept 28th if possible.

It's going to take a whole lot more than just that to do the conversion.
