MAN what a difference! I used 1 1/2" hole saw, cut 2 holes. My cordless ran out of juice so had to use util knife to finnish(that is about some thickass plastic!). This thing was a SLUG when i bought it, aint no slug now! Its amazing what a few minor mods can do. Anyway, i just thought id share that. Later
Yeah me too. I'm probably going to just fab up an intake tube from some PVC pipe. I know some guys that made some for their Mustangs. Its pretty easy to do.
You will want to drill/cut on the side of the airbox where the factory silencer tube is at. On mine, it was the front, going in behind the headlight. Some models might have the silencer on the side, going into the fender. The factory had a good idea to get cooler air into the engine, its just that they restricted the amount of air with the silencer, to keep the noise level down. Open it up!
One word for u guys : FIPK. Take a look at the K&N FIPK (Fuel Injection Performance Kit). It basically completely improves your intake up front. And if im not mistaken its a cold air induction system so your not sucking hot air from the engine into yer car. Yeah, theyre a little pricey (around $250) i think. But its well worth the investment. The sound difference is incredible. My truck sounds 10 times more tough now. I also noticed a huge difference in power gains. Better throttle response, more low end torque, and more high end horsepower. Some people swear by the KKN kit. But let me just tell ya, the FIPK is the way to go. In two days im gettin my exaust completely redone and addin a flowmaster 50 series delta flow. So yes, my truck is gonna sound even more badass.
How does it sound compared to the stock exhaust? I was thinking about doing this, but I don't want it to be really loud, but a bit louder than stock. thx

I think the sound is perfect, in my opinion. Not to loud on outside(wont piss off the neibors) and REALLY nice sound on inside, but not headache loud. I thought about getting 50 suv but i THINK they said it was louder on inside and quieter outside. Anyway, im real pleased with 50 delta.
HE** YEAH PREVIOUSLY I MODIFIED MY X WITH A JET PERFORMANCE CHIP CUT OFF THE EXHAUST AND PUT IN A K&N DROP IN FILTER
ABOUT 3 TIMES I WENT OUT TO THE GARAGE WITH THE THOUGHT OF MAKING SOME HOLES IN MY AIR BOX THEN I WOULD LOOK AT IT AND THINK THAT IT LOOKS LIKE IT FLOWS FINE SO I WOULD GO BACK IN THE HOUSE AND FORGET IT BUT TODAY I WAS DETERMIED SO I WENT OUT THERE AND AS YOU SAIS TOOK A 1.5" HOLE SAW AND MADE TWO HOLES
AND MAN THE POWER IS WAY BETTER AND IT REVS WAY MORE AND SOUNDS WAY BETTER
NOW THAT I SEE YOUR POST I KNOW THAT IS NOT ALL IN MY HEAD
This dude at the muffler shop were i had it done, he had a S-10 4.6L with 30 series single in/duel out. MAN you wanna talk about loud!! Sounded like a big block. I guess 40 series is somewere in between. later

I installed the Force II cat-back system which comes with the Delta 50 SUV muffler and it's been the best overall addition I've done. Perfect sound in all situations.
BTW- I paid $180 for the whole system and installed it in a little over an hour.
