Hello!

Does anybody know what the correct drive belt length is for a 2000 ohv.

PepBots sold me a 87.5 in. and it does not seem to want to go on.

I crank that tensioner pulley all the way over till dead stop and I still need a 1/8th to 1/4 in.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i dont know what the length is but i used to run a shorter belt for racing and thet let me test fit the belts before i purchased them. see if they will let you do that out in the parking lot since they cant give you the correct size.

Most likely you got the right one. You just got to pull hard counter clockwise to put it in. If you lack muscle, ;) get a help from a friend with muscle. :D

Wrong Store, Wrong Belt !

The Belt length for a 2000 X 4L OHV is 88.4 in. (as per Ford Parts Dept.) PepBots and their computer still insist that the 86.5 will fit.
I got a refund and went to Autozone. Their computer says 88.2 in. I bought it and viola it fits.

I would have bought the belt right from Ford but they don't carry the belt in stock.

Keep on Truck'n

Wow, I'm surprised. Usually Pepboys are more knowledgeable than the Autozone people. I had the same experience with the wrong thermostat part number at Autozone (and they insist it was right) and got the right ones at Pepboys.
