A few weeks ago a transmission line blew and emptied the fluid. I repaired the hole. Filled the fluid drove home fine. Then it wouldn't engage any gears at all. So I changed the transmission filter and filled the fluid again. Everything worked fine again.

Now after driving it around for a few weeks perfectly fine. It suddenly won't engage drive unless you go down into second gear and then back up to drive. Then drive works fine other than a hard shift into second at around 2500 rpms. And the check engine light is on.

Check the shift linkage? Pull the codes to see why the light is on?

Linkage seems fine.
The code is p1762. Says internal transmission issue.

Be sure the Transmission Range Switch is not loose, or faulty, giving PCM mixed signals about what it should make the transmission do. TRS is mounted on the outside of the transmission, easy to get to.

Internal parts failure almost always cause incorrect shaft speeds, which PCM uses in choosing it's trouble code; you don't seem to have that situation. imp
