youll be fine, ive had mine out of my '99 for a while now, and have had it out for around 4 months in the past. you wont have a problem, no codes or anything. you just wont have auto.

Yup - He's right! No problem at all!

i hope your not talking about the cv's, Then you would have trouble

I want to take out both front axles, from the diff i guess. so i will have just rear wheel drive for a while. i hope this is still fine...

thanx for the help guys.

that was my first ever post and i cant believe you guys are so quick and helpful...thankyou again.

If you're taking the axle shafts out you may have some fluid leakage problems.

You'll have more problems than that :nono:

In order to drive around without the half shafts, you have to find a way to hold the hub assembly together, as that is one of the jobs of the outer CV cup. Without it you'll get a few miles down the road and then loose a tire. I learned the hard way.

I took apart a couple of old shafts and salvaged the outer CV cups along with the axle nut, and ran like that for a good 3 months before my SAS. Pic:

oh no...any more info you can give on stopping the oil leaks and building a system to hold the whole lot together...

thanx
