Hello, the drivers side door on my 98' Sports is clicking when I open and close it. Pinpointed the problem to be the rubber bushing between the roller that rides on the door hinge. Has anyone had this problem and how do I go about fixing it. It is annoying as hell and makes my truck feel cheap.

Doesn't anyone know what might be causing this, it is really driving me nuts. I thought about replacing the middle door hinge, but it seems to be in great condition. I just want to get rid of that loud click noise....

Pleae help if you can.

I get that on both my doors.... sorry i cant help more

clicking prob

i have this problem once in a while. if you check the bottom hinge you will see a somewhat round object that the rolls within the hinge when you open and close. You can rotate it around till you dont hear the clicking.
that little round thing gets rotated wrong and you get the click.

hope this helps.

i got the same problem. monthly i WD 40 the the hinges and it helps the nosie. it drives me crazy when it makes the poping sound.

I did WD-40 the thing and it made it twice as loud to my shagrin :fire: There has to be a way to replace the damn thing... It is loud when it pops, loud enough so everyone around can hear it.

Take a screwdriver or other small tool and use it to turn the little rubber wheel just slightly--the noise will go away for a while--I'm on my 2nd Explorer and have been doing this for years--Barry

Click back louder! You have to be intimidating though...otherwise it will click back. So everytime it clicks at you just click even meaner!!! I have'nt had that click since the last time i closed my doors!

I have the same thing. Going to try to spin the roller tomorrow. Mine apeared after using wd-40 as a preventitive. :(

Can the hinge function without the roller, I was thinking about just taking it off.

I am sure it will still function in a sense that the door won't fall off. I think it provides a detent so the door will stay in place when open. I am not sure what portion of the hinge the dome lights functions off of. Make sure it won't screw that up.
