My stock drivers door speaker blew out, so I got new pioneer door speakers and a month later the dri vers speaker blew out. Is there something wrong with the wiring considering the only speaker to blow out was the drivers one and it happened twice. Also, what door speakers do you recommend? I am happy with pioneer but if there is a better one then ill get it.

Thanks for your help because a blown door speaker sounds awful..

ive had this happen on another truck i had, i got tired and replaceing and spending money so i re-wired all the speckers in my truck never had a problem with it and yeah it was a pain but saved me money in the long run, im not say re-do all the doors but maybe just try the one door with a better wire.. hopfuly this gets u in the right direction

I don't think it's the wiring. blown speakers come from over voltage (or physical damage to the speaker) and bad wiring cant increase voltage.

check to be sure that the speaker is actually blown. in my '93 i put new door speakers in only to find they rattled at moderate to high volume levels, turned out to be that black cloth piece right behind the grill on the door... it came loose and was making the rattling noise, removed it and problem solved. the speakers i used are JBL power series IMO they aren't the best sounding speakers, but they seem to handle quite a bit of power without problem, and they have good bass response.

also be sure that there is no strain on the speaker when it is mounted (for example, mounted to a non flat surface, or mounted with the edge of the speaker basket pressing on something, etc).

...are you powering you're speakers with the stock head unit, an after-market head unit, or a dedicated power amp? if you're using a dedicated amp (over 40 watts) and you're cranking it up, boosting the bass etc, it's likely that it's just too much power for the speakers to handle.

I have a stock headunit, I usually do have the bass and volume cranking (no making fun of me lol). I have an amp but its only hooked up to a sub. Thanks for the info.. One I figure out how to remove the window wiring harness I will be able to fix my door speakers. Those wiring harness (window/door lock) are a pain! I have no idea how to disconnect them.
