I've been doing some searching for the last 2 days to no avail. I've been trying to get a remote programmed for remote locks but it will not go into the learn mode (turn the key on and off 5 or 8 times). It seems its not realizing the door is open or shut. I originally noticed this when the dome light didn't turn on when the driver door is open, but does when any other door is opened, also the windows will still go up and down after the key is off like it should, but opening the driver door they still work, but any other door they cut off like it should. It has been like this since i bought it a bit over a year or so ago. I've been digging around in the door and found 2 wires that were cut. One is a purple/green i believe that goes to the latch mechanism with a single plug that fits on a stud, i ground it, the dome light comes on. The other is a yellow/black wire that only has about an inch left coming out of the harness. I have no idea where that is supposed to hook. I do remember about a month ago digging around in the door for another reason and found a plug laying in the bottom of the door with a short length of wire attached, but cant for the life of me remember what color the wire was.

Can anyone help me as to what these wires do, where they go, and if this is the reason its not going into learn mode?

It also has some sort of old aftermarket security system that I have no remotes to and have been trying to reverse engineer so I can remove it and still have things work properly, and possibly install a new one of my own. Could that be causing it to not go into learn mode?

i am going to say, if you have a older or any aftermarket security system in it, it will stop it from going into learn mode. that or, if your truck never came with a factory keyless entry system, it wont have whats called a RAP (which is located just in front of the access panel inside the drivers rear quarter), and that would be another reason why it will not go into learn mode

I'll have to try to look for that module this afternoon. Any ideas on those wires in the door? Mainly the yellow/black one?

Look at the wiring diagrams for door locks and power windows until you find the right color combo.

That was the first thing I did. I've been having trouble finding decent diagrams, hence the reason I asked on here. I'll check that link you posted right meow.
