Hey all, i've been having problems with my drivers side window lately. It will randomly stop going back up sometimes. Thats pretty much all i can give of info, lol. It will work sometimes, and sometimes it just stops. It's only completely stopped going up once, and i fixed it by taking the door panel off, then it started working again. I dont know what i need to replace, and i dont want to take it into a shop for fear that they'll rape me with things i dont need, or they wont know the problem either, since like i said, its pretty random as to when it decides to stop working... Anyone ever hear of this?

With it being so random, I would start my blame on the switch. The driver's door window switches are somewhat "open" to the elements and can simply collect dirt over time. If me, I would remove the door panel again (directions are Dead Link Removed , but as you said, you have taken it off previously). From there, remove the window/lock switch "block" from the panel, split the box in two, and give the whole thing a good cleaning.

cleaning with what? just a can of air? try and use a toothbrush or something on the wires? just want to make sure before i bork anything up.

Did you get this fixed? I have the same problem! I don't know if it's the regulator or motor though....

Thanks!

There are threads here on replacing the motor, in case that's the problem.

You can test the motor by pulling the door panel loose at the bottom and opening the two-wire connector that feeds the motor. Put + and - on opposite wires. The motor should spin one way or the other, moving the window.

Replacement rebuilt motors are about $80 from an auto parts store, plus core charge.

Nah, i havent had a problem since i posted this... dunno what it was/is, but until it happens again i aint about to take the door apart

Mine failed intermittently before it failed completely.
