driver side windshield wiper died

my driver side windshield wiper stopped working last night
anyone had something similar happen?
anyone know how to fix this or what could be wrong?
the passanger side still works fine

is there any way to temporarily set the passanger side to wipe the whole window like i've seen other cars do?

I would start bye taking the wiper off check to see if its stripped out, if not remove the plastic cowl and check to see if the bracket from the motor is broke or disconnected.

opened it up
the linkage fell off

the plastic socket for the ball joint seems worn out
anyone know if i can replace just that part?

To the best of my knowledge you'll need to replace the wiper transmission. If you just pop it on, it'll come off again, and I've never heard of a way to get the sockets, but I'm sure that I'm going to be corrected on that one...
