Drivers door won't close

Hey guya, I am having this problem that started last night. When I get out of my X and close my door, it doesn't close all the way or stay closed. Apparently the little metal lever that open when you open the door handle and springs shut when it hit the control lever on the door frame when you close the door isn't springing back and forth. I have to manually hold the door handle open and move the little lever inside the door with my finger so the metal part on the frame of the X will guid einto it to latch the door shut. Has anyone had this problem? Any quick or easy fix ideas?

Anyone? I tis a problem because I didn't notice my door didn't shut one of hte firs ttimes it happened, I came back to my X outside of my friends building about 20 minutes later and my door was wide open.
