OK so I got a message in the app saying my vehicle equipped with Ford Pass Connect has been updated to the latest software version. Simply start your vehicle to reactivate remote features including start/stop and lock/unlock. I got that after getting into work. So when I left this morning my driver door won't unlock. I can see it kind of jiggling but the knob won't raise up. I had to get in the passenger side and use the inside handle on the driver door to open it up in order to get in the vehicle. Would the software update cause this to happen? I used every method i could to open the door from the outside. The fob, the handle, the keypad, even the actual key itself from the fob. Nothing happened.

I don't think has caused that issue. Guessing that some thing went wrong with the lock on that door. Are you still under warranty?

I bought it used and bought the premium extended warranty. I only had the thing two weeks. I went back out there and now the little knob inside moves up a little each time i hit the unlock or lock and then it let me in. So it seems to be working some now but not 100%. I wonder if some snow got inside the knob. I opened the window and some snow and ice came into the vehicle over the door panel. It was pretty wet.

Maybe it froze. If it dries out good or warms up it may go back to normal.

Not knowing what the temperature was at the time, is it possible that the lock was just frozen?

I'm thinking it was. I went out there yesterday and it seems to be back to normal. I'm hoping the snow and water that may have got let in by me opening the window was the cause. I hope it doesn't do this every time its cold. Temps dropped down into the teens and wind chills were single digits.

I contacted my dealership and told them I didn't think I should be dealing with crap like this after only having the vehicle two weeks. I had bought the premium extended warranty but told them I didn't think I should have to pay the deductible for it. They told me they would take care of it when I brought it in. We will see what happens.

If it's still working now I don't think there is much the dealership can do. It might have been a one-time event.

Welcome to the Forum.
Did you mean to add a reply to the quoted posts? I don't see anything new?

We just moved to PA and are having the same issue when it’s really cold outside. We used to live in Southern California so it never got cold.

Are the other doors all unlocking when you use the keyfob to unlock?

Everything else works fine. It’s just the drivers door. Once I open it from the inside it usually works fine until it sits overnight.

Two things you can try. Check the battery voltage after it has sat overnight. And does it happen with both key FOBs? It might be worth trying a new battery in the FOB.
