Hey guys. This is my first post here. I got a 95 xlt 4x4 a couple months ago and I love it. My forst Ford and I must say I am very impressed. Heres my problem:

My drivers side air vent doesnt blow any air. I have tried all settings from head and feet, max a/c etc. The only time it will blow is if I close all other vents and then it only blows a little. I cant really see anything from looking under the dash so I dont know if its disconected a little or something. Is this a common prob or have any of you had this prob before? Any suggestions on where to start w this?

Thanks alot guys. This site is great and I have been able to answer bunches of questions just through searching around.

I just replaced some guage bulbs and the vent seems to be connected. At least as far as I can see. Any ideas? Cold air seems to flow a little better than hot

I'm having the exact same problems. Only I haven't replaced my dash bulbs yet to look. Hysterically, I too need to replace the dash bulbs. All but 2 or 3 are burnt out.

Holy old thread.

Neo, did you not solve the problem 7 years ago?! :O

old thread not withstanding, most vehicles have hoses connected to the ac/heater plenum which then go to the side vents. sometimes the same is accomplished using plastic ducting, but in any case, if you're not getting much output from a given vent, a hose/duct has probably has come loose somewhere under the dash. you may get to see something if you pull the radio out, but i'm not sure.

Nope, nor have I fixed it on my current Explorer. I actually forgot I had posted about this again when I got my current truck so sorry for revising such an old thread. In my other post, someone mentioned a partially opened blend door being a possible culprit. My blend door is definitely broken as they all seem to become so I'm thinkin that might be my problem. My A/C only blows cold in "MAX A/C" mode which means the blend door is stuck. I know you can cut an access panel and manually open/close it. Might have to try if I ever figure out my transmission problem. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=257801
