Driveshaft help needed

I have an 03 FX4 Level II. At 35 to 40 mph a get a noticeable thump. Other forums have told me the the Ford fix was to install an aluminum driveshaft or relube the slip yoke with a "stickier" grease called molykote. Where I need the help is if anyone else has experienced this. Also how often do you have to relube with this molykote, or before I spend $235.00 on an aluminum driveshaft is it a permanent fix? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated

Sorry I don't have anything to offer on your "thumping" issue but as far as lubing the driveshaft I do mine whenever I change the oil even though it may not need it. I just use a standard moly based grease and it works fine for me. If you don't have a zerk fitting on your d-shaft i'd install on to make life easier.

Is this in a Supercab? If so, I think they have the two part rear shaft. I've heard of people replacing that with a one piece shift. I don't see what difference aluminum would make though.

it's actually the slip yoke on the front portion of the driveshaft that the TSB calls for relubing

Thats the part where my zerk fitting is and where yours should be if there isn't something there already.

make sure there is still a boot on the slip yoke part, mine came off on my 2001 and the driveshaft started studdering. i relubed and rebooted it and it's been working fine ever since.
