I took mine out to have a shop replace the U-joints. They also replaced the slip yoke with this metal cap thing that keeps all the grease inside & has a grease fitting. I didn't ask for it. They said it's a better design? Anyway I guess they shortend it since it's about 1.5" too short now I think. I'm not sure how to measure the distance. Is it the space, or flang to flang? Someone have a measurement of their whole rear driveshaft? Then I can just say look it needs to be X long.

It is usually flange to flange or middle of u-joint to u-joint.

I went to a junkyard & measured one. I got 48" from end to end. Is that right for a 94 4WD 4 door? Are they all the same or does each X have a different driveshaft length? The one I got back is 46 3/4" end to end.
