i have a problem. my stock driveshaft on my 89 b2 is shot... a little hole turned into a big hole on the cv boot? that buts up to the transfer case. so that caused it to sling all the grease out... im just waiting on it to totally lock up or fall apart... either one would suck!!!

anyways, do i have to replace the whole shaft or what... anyone know?

I would replace the shaft. U-joint d/s proves to be much stronger and more reliable. Either call up your local drive shaft service, or you can go to pick and pull and HOPE to find a double cardan unit.

yea, id love to put a ujoint shaft on it but money is an issue with that... and all the junk yards around here have B2's but the shafts are gone!!! :(

guess im going to have to dig in my pockets or keep looking!

buy a new boot. i have replaced mine twice now. it comes in a kit with grease and new straps. you can take the cv joint apart by wiggling and flexing it into the correct position so the balls fall out. it is really important to get it spotlessly clean before putting new grease inside.

keep smilin............t

ive went to countless auto parts stores and they dont even know what im talking about... when i tell them what i need.

any idea where i can get that boot kit?

At your local ford store, of course! It's just a boot kit, it shouldn't be too much.

alright. thanks, i guess i'll give that a shot sometime tomorrow!
thanks!

those were obsolete when I needed them 5 years ago. I had a ujoint shaft built at a driveline shop for $180
