Just completed a couple of mods that I wanted to share with my fellow STers. I realize some of this is discussed elsewhere in the forum.
The first which is discussed in the performance lighting section was to have the driving lights stay on with the high beams. The relay for my job 1 2001 ST was in the box near the master cylinder not under the air cleaner box as stated in the how to in the other section.
The next is changing the bulb to a 9005. The 9005 is a high beam bulb for alot of cars and trucks. It is a 60 watt bulb, stock is 42 watt. The wiring connecter is exactly the same. The bulbs fits into the housing with a very minor mod. The 9005 bulb has 3 prongs like the stock one, the lowe 2 are just a little wider. I simply broke a little of the prongs off to match stock bulb and put it in the housing. Then plugged the connecter on and checked it, WOW what a difference. With this light being so low in the bumper it doesn't seem to shine to high, just low and wide.
Disclaimer: Make sure and not touch the glass part of the bulbs. Both mods are probably against any warranties and state laws, but it will help you light your world at night. Also make sure and check your wiring to make sure wiring often to make sure the higher wattage bulb is not hurting it.
